A Bit About Me

As a seasoned educator with experience teaching 2nd through 5th grade in Florida and then 3rd grade in Louisiana, I have had the opportunity to witness the impact of quality education on the lives of my students. Through my years of teaching, I have come to fully believe in the power of project-based learning (see definition below), hands-on learning, and personalized learning as a means for creating an engaging and impactful educational experience

By utilizing project-based learning techniques, I have been able to create a classroom environment that is centered around student-driven exploration, inquiry, and creativity. By providing students with the tools and resources they need to pursue their own interests and passions, I have seen firsthand how project-based learning can foster a deep sense of engagement and ownership among students.

After several years of teaching in Florida, we had an opportunity to move to Louisiana I found the 3rd-grade teaching position at Lancaster Elementary School in Madisonville, Louisiana. While the move brought with it new challenges and opportunities, I was excited to bring my experience with project-based learning, hands-on learning, and so much more to a new group of students in a new state.

Since arriving in Louisiana, I have had the pleasure of teaching 3rd grade and continuing to develop my skills as an educator. Through my work with my students, I have been able to see the ways in which my skills and my teaching style can be adapted to meet the specific needs and interests of different groups of students.

Overall, my experience as a teacher with a focus on hands-on engaging learning has taught me the importance of creating an engaging and impactful educational experience for every student. Whether in Florida or Louisiana, I am committed to helping my students reach their full potential and achieve their goals through a student-centered approach to education.

After my 4 years of teaching, I have decided that I want to use my skills as a teacher to help students who need more support, need to be pushed to higher expectations, or just need that one-on-one work to grow to the highest level they can! I am here to help tutor your students and help out with homeschool groups, and teach homeschool teachers about project-based learning.

PBL (Project Based Learning) is the ongoing act of learning about different subjects simultaneously. This is achieved by guiding students to identify, through research, a real-world problem (local to global) developing its solution using evidence to support the claim, and presenting the solution through a multimedia approach based in a set of 21st-century tools.Kids show what they learn as they journey through the unit, interact with its lessons, collaborate with each other, and assess themselves and each other. They don't just take a test or produce a product at the end to show their learning." I spend the year teaching a combined 4th/5th-grade class having these students grow their knowledge through this creative, engaging, and powerful way.
